HEAD BAND DIRECTOR - JAMES SNIDER

Mr. Snider was born in Kermit, Texas.  He graduated from Odessa High School where he was a member of the Odessa High School Broncho Band under the direction of Bill Dean.  He played the trumpet as a member of the All-State Symphony in his senior year. 

Mr. Snider received his Bachelor of Music Education from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.  He studied conducting techniques with Eddie Green at East Texas State University and with Dr. Eugene Coupran at the University of North Texas.

Mr. Snider has helped to develop the musical talents of students across Texas.  His teaching career includes:

ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR - RON GARZA

Mr. Garza instructs the jazz band and oversees the percussion activities for the East Central ISD.

Before becoming a band director, Mr. Garza served as a percussion consultant and kept a private lesson studio, along with teaching middle school and high school percussion classes and marching percussion in the San Antonio area.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Texas State University-San Marcos where he was a member of the Bobcat Marching Band, PASIC Drumline, Salsa Del Rio Latin-Jazz Ensemble, the Panorama Steel Drum Band, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

Mr. Garza’s professional memberships include Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and he is an endorser for Innovative Percussion, Inc.

ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR - CLINT BINGHAM

Mr. Bingham instructs the varsity band and oversees the guard activities for the Odyssey Color / Winter Guard.

Mr. Bingham graduated from Howard Payne University in 2001.  This past year marks 9 years of directing bands both at the 5A level and the 1A level.  Mr. Binghams primary instruments are clarinet and saxophone.  He has taught at Killeen ISD, Spring Branch ISD (Houston), and Stanton ISD. 

Mr. Binghams teaching experience includes Jazz, Color Guard, Marching Band, and Concert Band.
